Vintage Late 1930s Early 1940s Black Velvet Dress w Green Buttons

This is a vintage late 1930s, early 1940s black velvet dress with short sleeves. It features a round neckline with three decorative, green buttons made of some early plastic. Behind the buttons are snaps which go down the front of the bodice. The buttons have small black ties.

The dress has a defined waist and zips on the side. The dress has its original zipper. The straight skirt that falls to knee-length or slightly below.

The bodice and skirt have decorative ruched velvet panels, adding a lovely touch to the look.

There are no belt loops. There is a small label on the back collar which says “Original design registered ®️ by a member of Fashion Originators Guild” and then some numbers. There are no shoulder pads.

CONDITION:

The velvet is in wonderful condition for its age. It is a more sheer velvet so a slip is recommended. I see 2 pin holes and a 2” area that looks like it is a line of puncture. It is not visible. No fading, rips, open seams or smells.

I am rating it in VERY GOOD PLUS CONDITION.
