This is a vintage 1970s Alfred Shahee shift dress. It is characterized by its distinctive floral pattern and sheer sleeves.
Alfred Shaheen was known for his textile designs and garments that often featured vibrant prints and were influenced by global cultures, particularly Polynesian and Asian motifs.
The dress is predominantly dusty pink with a floral print featuring hot pink flowers and some grey, white, and purple accents. The print is concentrated down the center front panel, with a border design at the hem and a vertical stripe.
The dress also has a high, mandarin-style collar and long, sheer sleeves that gather at the cuffs.
The fabric appears to be a lightweight material, possibly a blend including polyester, which was common in the 1970s, but there is no label. The fabric is shiny and has horizontal lines when sewn up close.
There are small fabric button closures that go down the front of the dress.
CONDITION: The right sleeve has 3 slight pulls as pictured above. Other than that it’s in EXCELLENT MINUS condition.
