Rare Butterick pattern 5970 in the “Delineator Style.”

"Delineator style 1940s" refers to the fashion patterns promoted by the Delineator, a popular women's magazine that ceased publication before the 1940s. Any 1940s styles described as "Delineator" would be a continuation of the magazine's influence via its parent company, Butterick patterns.

The Delineator magazine was primarily a catalog for Butterick sewing patterns and a key tastemaker for American women for decades. Although it merged with Pictorial Review in 1937 and ceased publication completely in 1939, its legacy continued through Butterick's patterns, which followed the major fashion trends of the 1940s.

This pattern is for a larger size:

Waist: 34”
Hip: 43”
Length from neck to hem: 57.5”

The pattern has 10 pieces.

The envelope and the pattern parts are all in excellent minus condition. just a few wrinkles to the envelope.
