This is a late 1940s or early 1950s cocktail hat with the label “A Patrice Model.”
Patrice was a brand known for diverse and stylish hats during the mid-20th century, particularly the 1950s. Their designs often reflected the era's emphasis on sculptural, elegant, and sometimes dramatic millinery.
This hat is no exception. The inside lining is gold lame. The outside covering is black velvet. The two flower accents are a stiff tulle fabric. The filament and anther are made of millinery flower materials.
The hat is in excellent minus condition due to a couple dropping petals (not noticeable when worn.) The hat is a one size fits all.
