This 1930s gown is made made of black silk velvet. It features a romantic draped bodice with a V-neckline and a flowing, bias-cut silhouette.
The dress has a drop-waist design with a gathered or ruched section at the front, leading into a 3-tiered, ruffled skirt. The lower tiers fall square at the bottom with black taffeta ruffles on the sides.
The gown is sleeveless. There is a black velvet strap that runs behind the neck and ends with bow on one side of the shoulder.
The back of the gown is features a deep V-shaped back. Small, scattered smokey rhinestones embellishments decorate the lower portion of the V.
CONDITION:
The velvet areas of the dress are in great shape with a few tiny pin holes about. Under the ruffles is a very think black silk fabric. This area has some areas that appear to have been holes or tears that have been patched and mended. These areas do not show.
I am rating this dress as being in very good condition (but fragile silk under the ruffles.) The dress is priced to reflect this and it does present beautifully.
