1930s French Perfumier’s Utility Uniform Dress Large

$345.00

Shipping to United States: $5.50

This 1930s-era garment is a double-breasted uniform dress, crafted from blue chambray cotton.

This "utility dress" was common for everyday wear and service work during the Depression and wartime eras. The dress comes from France and was the uniform at a perfumer’s shop.

The dress has an A-line skirt typical of 1930s-1940s day dresses. The dress has a double-breasted front with six dark blue buttons secured with matching fabric loops. Only the top button fastens. There are also a couple inner snaps at the top. The rest of the dress functions more in a wrap style.

It includes a V-neckline framed by a pointed, dark blue contrasting collar.

It has short, puffed sleeves, a hallmark of 1930s feminine styling even in utilitarian garments.

The outfit has one prominent side pocket with a contrasting dark triangle flap. The fabric is as crisp and starched as it was the day it was pressed.

The dress has ties on the inside as well as the outside which makes the sizing adjustable.

CONDITION: This dress has only one small issue and that is a slight band of faint brown from where perhaps it was folded. This can be seen on the last photo.

Otherwise there are absolutely no other issues. I am rating this as being in excellent minus condition.
