This is an elegant 1940s Hattie Carnegie Herringbone Suit for I. Magnin. Hattie Carnegie was
considered one of the most important and high end designers of the period. she designed for I. Magnin and was especially known for her women’s suits. This beautifully made suit is such an example.

This suit is made from a menswear-inspired herringbone. The fabric features a fine cream and chocolate-brown herringbone weave accented with narrow brick-red/burgundy and dark blue windowpane stripes, giving the neutral ground just a touch of rich color and visual depth.

The jacket is beautifully constructed with the refined tailoring associated with Hattie Carnegie. The jacket has a deep rust/burgundy lining in perfect condition.

The suit has two pockets.

Condition: There are two small holes on the back of the jacket.

Please refer to photographs for the location and scale of the holes.

Other than the holes, there are no tears, fading or smells. I am rating this as being in EXCELLENT MINUS CONDITION.
