Beautiful and roomy 100% virgin wool coat with Persian lamb trim. The trim is on the bottom of the coat and the tie accent ties around the neck. The coat has shoulder pads sewn inside.
The coast has one button on the top and a button on each bishop style sleeve. There are no pockets on this coat.
The waist has some ruching in the front and the belt is sewn on, on each side. This coast is very warm and perfect for the coming cold months ahead.
There is one label that says “Forstman, 100% virgin wool.” There is also a union label sewn on the inside. The label says “coat and suit” industry. This particular label was used from 1938 to the 1950s.” The coat looks to me to be 1938 or 1939.
The lining inside is in excellent condition with some slight discoloration under one arm and on the lower half (see pics.) Unnoticeable when worn.
There is a very subtle and tiny “chew” on the back. It does both go all the way through. There is also a deeper chew on the belt. The belt has very slight fray on the edges (see pics.)
